Idea for dinner: "Jackbeef" Bourguignon, also known as Jackfruit Bourguignon - it's a French stew made with red, dry wine.

Ingredients

Ingredients for 6 servings:
Jack Naked in Chunks 2 packs of 190g each
soy sauce 4 tablespoons
smoked paprika powder 2 tablespoons
white onion 200g
cloves of garlic 5 cloves
carrot 3 pieces
ordinary mushrooms 300g
Portobello mushrooms 250g
vegetable bouillon cubes in 500ml of water 2 pieces
tomato paste 3 tablespoons
dried or fresh thyme 1 tablespoon / a few stalks
red dry wine, French 500ml / 2 cups
parsley 1 bunch
bay leaves 3 pieces
salt and pepper 1 teaspoon each
pearl onions in a jar 1 jar, 290g
butter / plant-based 4 tablespoons
wheat flour 2 tablespoons

*Serve with mashed potatoes.

How to prepare

  1. In a pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced ​​onions and sprinkle with salt. Fry until the onions are golden brown.
  2. Add garlic and coarsely chopped mushrooms. Sprinkle with salt again and fry until the mushrooms reduce in volume. Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and add flour. Fry for another 3 minutes, stirring, and then set aside.
  3. Open and drain the Naked Jackfruit, then rinse thoroughly with water. Mix with tomato paste, the remaining soy sauce, bay leaf, and smoked paprika.
  4. In a large pot, melt the remaining 2 cubes of butter. Add the Jackfruit. Fry over high heat for a few minutes, stirring. Then add the sliced ​​carrots, fried mushrooms, broth, and red wine.
  5. Cook over low heat for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. During this time, you can make mashed potatoes :)
  6. When the stew thickens and the jackfruit starts to fall apart, add the drained onions, chopped parsley, and pepper. Mix and the Bourguignon is ready to eat! :)
