Maybe not entirely Italian, but oh so delicious... A bit naughty take on BBQ pizza, this time with Jackfruit accompanied by jalapenos, corn, and chili! Drizzle it with garlic sauce and you'll get the perfect cheat meal for a Saturday evening :) P.S. Sprinkle some crumbled nachos on top – it works wonders!

Preparation time: 20 minutes + *60 minutes for the dough

Ingredients

Pizza Dough:

  • Pizza flour type 0: 500 g
  • Warm water: 280 ml
  • Fresh yeast: 20 g
  • Brown or white sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 15 g
  • Olive oil: 30 ml

Sauce and Ingredients for 2 pizzas:

  • Jack Barbeque: 125 g
  • BBQ sauce: 100 ml
  • Tomato passata or tomato puree: 100 ml
  • Pizza cheese: 150 g
  • Pickled jalapenos: 4-5 pieces
  • Red onion: 1/2 piece
  • Red bell pepper: 1/2 piece
  • Sweetcorn: 80 g

How to prepare

  1. Activate the yeast in warm water with sugar. Set aside in a warm place for 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl with flour, add salt, the risen yeast mixture, and olive oil. Knead the dough vigorously for about 10 minutes until it becomes elastic. Let it rise for 50 minutes. After this time, knead it again for 2 minutes and let it rest for another 10 minutes. After this time, the dough will be ready to shape.
  3. Prepare all the ingredients: Mix the BBQ sauce with the tomato passata. Grate the cheese. Slice the onion into thin strips. Cut the bell pepper into strips. Drain the corn and jalapenos from the brine.
  4. Shape the dough into a round shape. Cover the bottom without the edges with the sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella and arrange the bell pepper, red onion, and jackfruit.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 250°C (480°F). After baking, add the corn and jalapenos on top of the pizza.
